The Department of Forestry reminds loggers to notify their harvests. The Harvest Notification Portal now accepts Latitude & Longitude in decimal degrees as well as deg-min-sec. Directions from nearest intersection are still accepted. There has been a recent uptick in Failure to Notify. Please remember to notify all harests within 3 days of start, even when cutting a neighboring property from the same deck
Virginia Cooperative Extension and VDOF have created a Red Imported Fire Ant Self-Inspection Checklist to help loggers prevent the spread of these invasive insects.
